Для ядер из Сизифа этот драйвер уже довольно давно собирается
(kernel-modules-r1000-*). Возможно, кто-то собрал backport для ядер
из C3.0.

Вот с ipw3945 ситуация несколько хуже - этот драйвер действительно
требует достаточно свежей версии модулей ieee80211, а с этой свежей
версией, в свою очередь, не работают старые версии других драйверов.
Поэтому просто собрать этот модуль для ядра из C3.0, скорее всего, не
получится. В Сизифе этот модуль тоже уже собран.
Модули ieee80211 для ядра из C3.0 (2.6.12-std26-*) собирались в виде
отдельных пакетов kernel-modules-ieee80211-*; позднее от такого
способа пришлось отказаться, поскольку в составе самого ядра появились
драйверы, использующие ieee80211. Сейчас в Сизифе к ядру 2.6.16
прикладывается патч (kernel-feat-ieee80211), который обновляет
имеющуюся в ядре версию ieee80211 до более новой, необходимой для
сборки новых версий драйверов ipw*, а также при необходимости
модифицирует драйверы, входящие в состав ядра, для совместимости с
новой версией ieee80211.
