Кстати, Windows XP в последнее время стала препятствовать этому :)
Через графический интерфейс ("Управление дисками") установить раздел
Linux активным теперь нельзя - соответствующая команда в меню
недоступна (а вот установить активным раздел Windows, если активен
другой, можно). Впрочем, все пути они пока не перекрыли - можно
использовать текстовую утилиту diskpart.
И на IBM|Lenovo ThinkPad Z60m вариант с активным разделом Linux тоже
не прошёл - в результате получилось только "Missing operating system".
Возможно, это как-то связано с наличием на диске служебного раздела,
предназначенного для восстановления Windows, и соответствущей
поддержкой в BIOS.
