Главное, почитать man mkfs и знать имя тома. Например, Zip-диски
я форматировал, как ext2 и vfat. Флэшку SD разбивал на два
раздела и форматировал их, как vfat. На второй раздел записывал
*.rpm'ы, а на первый - сделанные фотоаппаратом снимки. Всё это
чисто технические упражнения, практически, лишённые пользы.
Флэшку после них стоит отформатировать в фотокамере и далее
использовать только по назначению. Ну, а если данные хотите
носить в кармашке, то тоже нет проблем. Все операции обратимы.
Не думать, а трясти надо :-).
