Нет - dmraid был создан как раз для поддержки форматов, используемых
различными подобными BIOS RAID. Правда, совместимость может быть не
совсем полной, в особенности при обработке отказов дисков в RAID1 (из-за
отсутствия полной информации о структуре описателей массивов, используемой
в BIOS).
Несовместима с другими ОС реализация software RAID в драйвере md (зато
этот вариант не зависит от типов контроллеров).

Не получится - из 2.6 убрали всю подсистему ataraid, объявив такой подход
идеологически неверным.
