Пока слышал только "спасибо" в адрес Юры Калиниченко, который
и свернул пакет.

Если хотите, можете поддерживать backport и рекомендовать его
для включения в updates. Из меня, например, майнтейнер выйдет
незаинтересованный (т.е. не выйдет).
