/dev/fd0 - устройство с автораспознаванием формата дискеты, которое
годится почти во всех случаях, кроме форматирования; /dev/fd0u1440 и
прочие подобные устройства - с фиксированным форматом.
К сожалению, в настоящее время сборка udev в ALT не создаёт полный
набор файлов устройств /dev/fd*:

Впрочем, можно установить пакет fdutils и указать нужный формат перед
запуском форматирования:
setfdprm /dev/fd0 1440/1440
fdformat /dev/fd0
(установки, сделанные командой setfdprm без опции -p, действуют до
смены дискеты).
