вы об этом лучше у rider'a спросите. в багзилле :)

не проще, насколько я понимаю. icewm-light собирается с другими
опциями. зачем оно так сделано точно знает maintainer пакета.
теперь по поводу патча. поймите, есть штатная опция сборки
"--disable-winmenu". если приложить патч и собирать с этой опцией, то
сборка не удастся. что это значит ? это значит, что патч сделан
несколько криво. можно на это наплевать и собирать так же, как это
делает автор патча. а _нужно_ данную ошибку исправить. и только потом
пытаться толкнуть этот патч в сизиф, апстрим, e.t.c.
