Кстати, хде взял это ядро? Чёт мне apt по данному поводу выдал только
alt6 ... ;)

Техгнология проца не важна, тут такое дело, если один проц, то ставь -up, если
два, то -smp. Не знаю как на многопроцессорных системах, но у меня как видишь
на одном проце и ядре std26-up 3D есть.
