На некоторых матерях остаётся дежурное питание для их дистанционного
включения (через сетевую карту или модем). В этом случае светодиодик на
материнской плате продолжает гореть.

Посмотрите на светодиод на мамке. Меня со страшной силой напрягают
светодиоды жёлтого цвета (кажется, что что-то тлеет на материнской
плате!), куда приятнее, если в этом случае горит светодиод красного или
зелёного цвета. Этот светодиод должен гореть при любой операционке.
