Не все переходники USB-IDE могут работать с ATAPI-устройствами; у
некоторых вариантов нет автоопределения типа устройства, но есть перемычка
для включения режима ATAPI.
Кстати, на CD-ROM перемычка стояла в положении Master?

Нет - это список не совсем правильно работающих SCSI-устройств с флагами,
включающими обход различных ошибок в реализации протоколов SCSI. К
ситуации, когда устройство совсем не обнаруживается, это отношения не
имеет.
