Не впервой, вон разработчики Serna консультировались в sisyphus@.

Не впервой, хотя в зависимости от того, что за софт и каковы
требования к процедуре установки -- может иметь больше смысла
пользоваться разными путями.

(по второму варианту есть текстовый инсталер на Ruby, который
встаёт на evms; понятно, что стартуют оба варианта с того или
иного livecd для начала)
