Вообще у нас тоже есть такая бага (несколькилетней давности)
и pilot@ вроде говорил, что правил. Посмотрите в
bugzilla.altlinux.org и если актуально -- переоткройте или
свяжитесь с майнтейнером.

Вообще net-scripts в ALT официально умерли. Теперь etcnet.
(хм... мне почему-то казалось, что ppp-watch в ppp...)

Попробуйте. Возможно, поможет решить (изолировать) конкретную
проблему и более аргументированно общаться с майнтейнером.
