В настройках надо просто "все-отключить". (надеюсь, ценной инфы на этих
винтах у вас уже нет ;)
Т.е. винты должны видеться как два обычных IDE-винта, без связи с каки-либо
RAID.

Ну тогда вам не придется возиться с "загрузкой-сразу-с-RAID", это несколько
проще - поставил, и в готовой системе организовал зеркало ;)

Если вы на нем разместите только /, то наверно может быть и медленным.
Но тогда зеркалироваться у вас будут только данные, а не сама система.
Третий винт сломался - система померла.
