Да, man procmail, man procmailrc, man procmailex ;-)

На самом деле fetchmail пытается отдать почту на
smtp://localhost:25/, и в случае неудачи:
If no port 25 listener is available, but your fetchmail configuration
was told about a reliable local MDA, it will use that MDA for local
delivery instead. At build time, fetchmail normally looks for exe-
cutable procmail(1) and sendmail(1) binaries.
Так что fetchmail отдаёт почту не MTA, а MDA - mail delivery
agent'у (это если быть совсем точным).
