Наиболее последовательно (и со всеми "почти") этот вопрос решён в
дистрибутиве Gentoo, где принципиально сборка _всех_ пакетов
ведётся под конкретный процессор и с учётом пользовательских
предпочтений (qt или gtk, и т.д.). Для интереса я проводил сборку
для процессора VIA Nehemia (больше не буду - очень долго) и для
Pentium 4.
Любой другой подход - жалкие полумеры, и совсем не интересно.
