А чем Вам штатное не угодило, что Вы его собрались менять?
Если обновляться из updates ALM24 то нужно всего-то выполнить:
1. Обновление списка доступных пакетов:
apt-get update
2. Установка собственно ядра
apt-get install kernel-image-std(26)-up#<версия ядра>
3. Установка нужных модулей (по необходимости)
apt-get install kernel-modules-<название>-std(26)-up
Или же через Synaptic - там всё просто.
