тема framebuffer console не раскрыта, афтору низачот ;-)

rivafb не совместим с x.org nvidia (точнее с ядреным модулем nvidia).

пересборка ядра нужна именно для использования в контексте vga=xxx. можно без
пересборки: vga=normal и см. /etc/sysconfig/framebuffer
