Спасибо всем, всё работает! После mkinitrd - lilo, и всё заработало.
HDD-Upgrade - штука банальная, конечно, однако, вынести куда-нибудь
отдельно и _явно_ "о неразрывной связи" сабжа, не мешало бы. В переписке
постоянно натыкаешься, как я стал искать. А то в howto как-то вскользь,
да и то про Slackware.
при изменении раздела и файловой системы '/':

chroot /mnt/new;
(mkinitrd --help);
mkinitrd initrd-<версия_ядра>.img <версия_ядра>
