Вот, было тут как-то обсуждение:

(новее ничего не нашел).
У меня тот же вопрос, но в другой (более изначальной;) плоскости:
как заставить конкретную карточку всегда быть eth0,
а конкретную другую -- eth1.
Не с точностью до MACа, а с точностью до вставленного шнурка.
Как я понял, MACADDR в ifcfg-ethX (точнее, ifconfig ... address ... )
просто меняет MAC _на той же самой карточке_. А мне надо привязать это
дело к шнурку. Независимо от железа -- вставляю вот в этот слот (или
любой другой) вот эту карточку, вписываю её MAC в ifcfg-eth3 и радуюсь.
Как сделать?
Или чего я не понял в этот раз?-)
