Эхблин, надо было не полениться и воткнуть сказёвый привод...
Попробуйте забрать
ftp://ftp.altlinux.ru/pub/distributions/ALTLinux/Master/2.4/images/bootdisk.img
ftp://ftp.altlinux.ru/pub/distributions/ALTLinux/Master/2.4/images/cdrom.img
-- нанести ровным слоем на две дискетки и попробовать с них
стартовать.
Боюсь, инсталятору 2.x это уже ничем не поможет.
