Вообще-то таблицы с деревьями -- просто ортогональные
(и приводимые друг к другу только извращённым образом) способы
хранения информации.
Т.к. FTP представляет структуру сервера деревом (т.к. ровно так
обычно и обстоит на файловых системах), то пихать это в таблицу
-- всё равно что пытаться квадратную материнскую плату в круглый
корпус прикрутить, или не влазит, или много места пропадает ни
про что.
Почитайте на досуге про нереляционные базы данных, попустит. :)
