Увы, да.
К сожалению,
- свободных программ для редактирование диска (а-ля Norton Disk
Editor) под Linux нет (типа делайте резервные копии)
- из программ восстановления разделов - testdisk (ну неплохо
справляется, хотя надо иметь квалификацию и знания англ. языка)
- работа с разделами в parted на весьма поверхностном уровне
(одним не нужно, видимо, а другим - рук не хватает).
