Извините, давайте не путать _сопровождение_, _контрибы_ и
бэкпорты.
Вы хотите последнего, а оно наименее интересно тем, кто это умеет
делать (по наблюдениям и обдумыванию, с чего так).
Поэтому остаётся вариант собираться заинтересованным и бэкпортить
вещи на то, что есть.
Для такого собирательства и есть backports@ (пинать меня), а если
это были "общие мысли", а не желание заняться -- толку от них
0.00.
Тут делать надо, а не жаловаться -- от последнего бэкпортов не
прибавится.
