поставил mawk
дает:
Запускаю:
[root@Linux squid-2.5.STABLE6]# ./configure
Получаю:
loading cache ./config.cache
checking for a BSD compatible install... /bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for mawk... mawk
checking whether make sets ${MAKE}... no
checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no
checking for gcc... gcc
checking whether the C compiler (gcc -g) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot
create executables.
Как быть в этом случаи?

Не факт; можно проверить 'gcc -v' и если ответил -- найти это
"checking" в config.log.
