использовать synaptic, если очень хочется GUI, но работает и apt из комстроки

Тут на вкус каждого, когда у меня быд компакт, ничего страшного не заметил ;)

man mount, там про чтение ntfs есть, потом если хочется, то в /etc/fstab (man
fstab)

выкинуть drakconf, пойти в /etc/sysconfig/netscripts, там настроить ;)
