Судя по бетам -- да, в смысле возможно.
Собственно, проблема была в mkinitrd и устранена уже в ALC2.3.

Блин. Эксперты уровня этого режима вообще-то уже в курсе, что
_это_ можно пользовать _исключительно_ как IDE-каналы.
