А почему так? У меня были похожие проблемы с CNT (Центральный
Телеграф) именно с Omni LAN. Выглядело это следующим образом:
PPPoE, Routed IP, авторизация прописана в модеме. Модем
постоянно лезет авторизоваться на AS провайдера, в результате
"залипает" сессия. Диагноз - ниработает.
Поставил rp-pppoe-client, в модеме поставил PPPoA, Bridged IP
везде, настроил pppoe клиент - всё OK.

Опыт показывает, что это не так - большинство пользователей rpm не читали
