я могу wmmenu расположить снизу. а, например, подобные апплеты - wmappl (все
иконки внутри) или wmdrawer (иконки выезжают наверх) дают возможность выбора.

Хмм. в wmmenu я согу сделать два, три ряда иконок - если разрешение экрана мне
не позволяет расположить их в один ряд. Поэтому не ограничивается.

сложно понять, не посмотрев. Но я к тому, что пользуясь wm , не замечал за ним
явных ограничений, приводящих к неудобству.
