Если очень грубо и без деталей:
M$ хотела поглотить WinFrame, тогда ещё, увидев рост популярности
этого продукта. Поглотить и не развивать, примеров тому много.
windows terminal server - компромисс между
citrix и M$. Cirtix отстояла свой протокол ICA, M$ создала RDP.
При работе через ICA есть возможность отображать
диски клиента в терминальной сессии, то есть видеть диски
своего локального компьютра C:, D:, etc. Можно создать
Program Neighborhood по типу Network Neighborhood,
короче http://www.citrix.com
