Не на ноутбуке часом?

Это не недостаток, а фича KDE + недостаток информации об этой фиче,
который и сбивает с толку пользователей. Ну что же тут поделаешь,
если в KDE имеется встроенный переключатель клавиатуры, который
не очень хорошо сочетается с общепринятыми средствами русификации?
Удалить его нельзя, запретить пользователю лазить в центр настроек
и включать там что попало -- тоже. А вот включить *в дополнение*
к стандартному переключателю еще и утилиту kkbswitch, а также сделать,
чтобы она запускалась по умолчанию -- это уж дело создателей
*отечественных* дистрибутивов. Американцев же и европейцев ругать
за ее отсутствие нельзя.
Кстати, то же самое относится к Гному, где есть как встроенный
переключатель, так и утилита gswitchit.
