имхо совет был неправильный. rpm -Uvh не вопроизведет функциональнось
dist-upgrade.
хинт: апт умеет ставить не только из интернета, а из любого репозитария
включая локальные фалы и cdrom
так что проще всего вам будет сгенерить индексы, добавить каталог в
sources.list и сделать dist-upgrade.
