Странная ситуация с ним:
стоит ibm serveraid, к нему три диска ibm scsi по 18Гб, все это
сконфигурировано в raid5, биосом видится как OK
С его компакт-дисков поставил некую программу управления raid, заняла вначале
пустого диска 54 мб, установила тип раздела 0xfe (вроде), то есть IBM что-то
там ;)
после этого при загрузке можно попасть в настройку raid по ctrl-i
далее - ставим compact (у меня раскопирован 0310), нормально грузятся модули
adaptec (контроллер scsi, как я понимаю?), нормально видится диск sda,
нормально все устанавливается (в т.ч. и загрузчик), успешно завершаем
установку, вынимаем компакт, перезагружваем.
Сначала пытается грузиться с флоппи, потом с кд-рома (везде пусто), потом
выдает:
I9990301 disk failure or disk reset failed
НО! (случайно обнаружено). если компакт-диск оставить, с него загрузиться, и
выбрать boot installed os, то загрузка проходит успешно.
Для этого хорошо использовать лицензионный диск с windows2000:
при загрузке с него он просит нажать клавиши для начала установки, если за 5
сек клавиши не нажаты, то он грузит систему с винта (опять успешно!!)
У меня словжилось впечатление, что биос этого (блин) сервера самостоятельно
может найти загрузочные области только на флоппи и кд-ромах.
как только ничего из этого нет, до загрузки с raid дело не доходит.
может, кто имел дело с таким?? не оставлять же в кд-роме навсегда диск в 2000
виндой ;)

4. Check that the operating system has no failure and is installed correctly.
2 reseat - это что, переставить диски в рейде местами?
3 - не нашел нигде вообще, где указывается порядок поиска загрузочного диска.
