Hi, Community!
Всё время имел дело только с продукцией nvidia, а тут попал мне
в руки Radeon VE. Поскольку я наслышан о высоком качестве 2D в
продукции ATI, то решил поработать в Linux с этой карточкой
(особенно хотелось попробовать tv-out, который у nvidia меня не
очень устраивает).
Первая неожиданность, что "иксы" отказались запускаться при
подключенном tv-out. В XFree86.0.log поэтому поводу пишется
следующее:
(EE) RADEON(0): No valid mode found for this DFP/LCD
При чём здесь LCD и DFP, у меня ведь обычный crt-монитор +
телевизор?
Если выдернуть tv-out, то "иксы" стартуют без проблем. Особой
разницы в 2D я не заметил, а вот 3D-аккселерация отсутствует
напрочь. Бедный tuxracer еле шевелится... :-(
Возможно я спрашиваю о том, что уже тысячи раз обсуждалось, но
я всегда игнорировал письма в рассылке, где упоминлись ATI и
Radeon, т.к. думал, что это мне не прогодится. Поиск решения
моих проблем в инете ни к чему существенному не привёл. Всё, что
я понял, это что драйверы fglrx для Radeon VE не подходят, а
чтобы не было ошибок с DFP/LCD надо выключить tv-out.
Неужели ничем нельзя помочь? Может быть Radeon VE слишком
древняя для комфортной работы под Linux?
