Пришлось заглянуть в

1. Включил usb в bios setup-e, т.е. пришлось
перегрузиться.
2. После этого увидел usb в /proc/pci.
3. Сначала нужно грузть modprobe usbdevfs
4. Потом modprobe usb-uhci, несмотря на то, что в /proc/pci
про USB написано I/O at 0xef80, то есть ohci - про
этот хинт написано в документации по ссылке.
5. Теперь в lsmod вижу и usbcore, и usb-uhci.
В общем, подключить usb-принтер, оакзывается, не
сунул-вынул плагнплей.
Нужно бы статейку на atmsk.ru
Всё, еду на Савёл за Лексмарком, спасибо еще раз!

Не советую... У меня Z53 под linux ИНОГДА не допечатывал до конца
страницу -- пришлось отдать. И вообще этот их драйвер оставляет
желать лучшего.
