Проверить к сожалению я смогу тока вечером дома упали они в ~/RPM или
нет.
А почему тогда при запросе: rpm -q kernel24-2.4.20-alt11.src.rpm выдает что пакет
не установлен?

Дело в том, что это не обычный бинарный пакет, а исходный. Его установка
нигде не фиксируетс и фактически сводится к распаковке файлов.
