а какой там траффик ?
если нужно считать траффик на сетевой карте - можно просто в кроне снимать
статистику с интерфейса а затем как-то ее отработать.
Кстати есть еще iptraf (он есть в мастере, я его использую чисто как
"визуализатор" траффика) - он умеет работать в режиме логирования
