Впервые попробовал смотреть DVD под Linux и выяснил, что mplayer
это дело совсем не тянет: загрузка cpu 100% и звук сильно
расходится с видео. А вот xine даёт загрузку всего 80% и не
только замечательно кажет картинку, но и позволяет работать с
DVD-меню.
Возможно ли добиться такой же производительности (и, если можно,
работы с экранным меню) от mplayer. Моя система: Cel-400
(разогнанный до 480) + GeForce2-MX200.
Вот мой конфиг mplayer:
vo=xv
ao=oss
autosync=1
pp=0
mc=0,01
Я бы конечно мог смотреть DVD с помощью xine, но не знаю как
добиться от него вывода изображения на телевизор (то, что
mplayer делает опцией -display :0.1).

Пробовал, не получается.
xine -F жалуется, что "Display is not using Xinerama", хотя "cat
/var/log/XFree86.0.log |grep -i Xinerama" даёт:
(**) Option "Xinerama" "off"
## это я отключаю встроенную поддержку "рамы" в XFree86
(II) Initializing built-in extension XINERAMA
## это включается поддержка "рамы" драйвером nvidia
Не сочтите за труд посмотрите мой XF86Config-4. Может я чего не
допонял, читая по ...надцатому разу
/usr/share/doc/NVIDIA_GLX-1.0.4191/README и man XF86Config.
Не дайте помереть дураком.

Это потому, что там описаны три варианта:
1. Клон
2. Отдельные экраны (монитор 1024х768, телик 800х600)
3. Как у Вас RightOf

Жаль, что не монитор и телевизор, как у меня, т.к. куча проблем
возникает из-за того, что максимальное разрешение телевизора
800х600, а на мониторе хочется 1024х768.

Когда у меня ещё был Mandrake 9.1 и 14` crt монитор я писал тупо clone,
включал просмотр и шёл смотреть телик.
Сейчас у меня руки ещё не добрались. Вобще существует такая штука как
nvtv, можете её поюзать.
А можно сделать так:

Если хоца посмотреть подрубаете телик, разкоментируете выше приведёные
строки, перезагружаете X-сервер и наслаждаетесь жизнью.
И наконец самы тупой вариант: отключаете нафиг монитор цепляете телик,
всё изюбражение пойдёт на него, врубаете фильм(да понимаю на телеке это
не легко) и наслаждаетесь жизнью :).

Уже затёрта до дыр. Она многое умеет, но злобно поглючивает :-)

Да я уже в принципе нашёл "15 способов включения света", т.е.
просмотра фильмов на ТВ (не 15, конечно, но 6 смогу). Но
всё-таки ищу как просто нажать на выключатель (например, как
работает видео оверлей под win32) :-)
