А зачем модифицировать стандартный /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit? Его придётся
восстанавливать после каждого обновления пакета startup.
Для запуска "местных" сервисов предназначен файл /etc/rc.d/rc.local - его
нужно создать и сделать исполняемым. Этот файл запускается в конце
загрузки, после всех стандартных сервисов. Если этого недостаточно, нужно
делать SysV initscript в /etc/rc.d/init.d/ (образец там же в файле
template).
