Есть ps-файл, на экране выглядит нормально,
на принтер картинки в этом файле идут с низким разрешением.
Не возьму в толк, где что подкрутить

Попробуйте другой "драйвер" для принтера поставить - ppd-файл.
Наверняка он не один предлагается. И с pdd от gimp-print та же
картина?
