На что должен ссылаться линк /dev/dvd ??? /dev/hdc не прокатывает, хотя монтируется нормально...

Хороший вопрос ;) Всё ж зависит от того, в какой позе он стоит
и настроек (через ide-scsi или нет).

все, разобрался :) права для юзера поставил и заработало...
