Можно явно указать ip в hosts -
virtual_maps = mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql-virtual.cf
cat /etc/postfix/mysql-virtual.cf
hosts = <x.x.x.x>
user = xxxx
password = xxxx
dbname = xxxx
table = virtual
select_field = dest
where_field = alias
вы так проверяли?
