На самом деле, есть разница "в реализации", и некоторые вещи ведут себя
действительно по-разному. Я тоже сталкивался с ситуациями, которые не
шли сквозь алиасы, но решались через ip/iproute -- не вспомню, года два
назад уж точно.
Кроме того, раз есть "тенденция" в сторону ip/iproute -- надо осваивать,
так или иначе... Как по мне :-)
