Тю. Так sylpheed в бинарном виде в дистрибутиве и есть.
Исходники, на которые есть ссылки на сайте -- не для потрошения и
make (в общем случае), а для rpm --rebuild, если хочется втулить
не на Sisyphus, а на стабильный выпуск вроде Master 2.2.
В рамках сизифа проще -- sudo apt-get install sylpheed :)
