Описался. Не ~/temp/kde-keeper, а ~/tmp/kde-keeper.
Мой ник keeper. Домашний каталог keeper, поэтому и этот каталог
так называется. У root'а он /root/tmp/kde-root. Теперь могу сказать
более точно: начинает работать при удалении из этого каталога файлов
ksycoca и ksycocatamp. Драйвер для видео у меня не fglrx, а ati.
