Тут вообще может быть масса причин. cd-ripping -- штука
непредсказуемая (пример: у меня когда-то одна версия
EAC с ASUS 40x нормально сдирала, а другая на том же
приводе в той же винде вызывала мёртвый завис компа).

По матрицам -- не покупать дешёвую дрянь. Брать болванки
на Taiyo Yuden, Mitsubishi Chemical. По скорости -- кое где
этот вопрос вызывает холивары. Отмороженные (не до конца,
те что до конца -- те винил слушают) аудиофилы пишут на 1х.
На http://www.cdrfaq.org (есть русский перевод, но адреса
не помню -- погуглите на тему cdrfaq Энди Макфеддена)
и http://forum.ixbt.com можно найти много полезного про
запись дисков. После прочтения многие вопросы отпадут.
