Не факт.
1) На нескольких машинах (в одном случае с 8500LE, в другом - с
9200SE) с fglrx был обнаружен глюк: после переключения из X в
текстовую консоль и обратно цвета в X искажаются; исправляется это
после запуска любой GL-ной программы, но неприятно. Это, кстати,
проявлялось и в 3.2.5, и в 3.2.8.
2) На Athlon свободный драйвер долгое время работал спокойно без
всяких дополнительных параметров ядра, а flgrx запросил
mem=nopentium (и без этого параметра система висла).
3) fglrx не живёт с radeonfb.
4) fglrx не поддерживает doublescan-режимы, что проявляется на
хорошем мониторе - если монитор позволяет использовать
1280x960@85Hz, XFree выбирает этот режим с doublescan для 640x480; в
результате игры, устанавливающие этот режим, не работают (на экране
наблюдаются перемешанные куски изображения).
Кстати, ещё в fglrx наблюдаются странности в обработке указанных в
XF86Config-4 ModeLine: у меня при наличии хотя бы одной ModeLine в
fglrx оставались только режимы 640x480 и 800x600, пока я не включил
tv-out "секретными" параметрами через fglrxconfig.
