-r -J. Если есть файлы/каталоги с русскими именами, то
-r -jcharset koi8-r (или какая там у Вас локаль).

Сложный вопрос. Был бы простым -- скорость записи и
ставить такую, которая поддерживается одновременно
приводом и болванкой -- если бы не одно НО: последние
версии cdrecord очень своевольничают с этим параметром.
Указание speed=x не даёт ничего -- cdrecord решает сам, с
какой скоростью ему писать. Одно время меня забавляло то,
что на 10х RW-шку он мне писал со скоростью ~13х-14х при
формуле привода 20/10/40. Что-то вроде бесплатного (?)
апгрейда привода и болванки... Потом начало беспокоить такое его
поведение, пока однажды он мне не запорол отличную TDK-шную
болванку на Taiyo Yuden, начав её записывать на 27х -- всё
кончилось на ~100MB Input/Output Error. После чего я перешёл
на cdrdao. Жаль, хорошая была софтина :(
