При чем тут xinet.d?
И что значит сайт не открывается? "Интернет сломался"? :)

А что раньше помогало то?
Была у меня такая проблемма. Поковырялся в man pppd, выставил (не
помню уже как) чтобы DNS определялись сервером провайдера (или
как там правильно сказать), и всё стало путём...
