Эти платы не поддерживаются XFree86-4.x. Вам надо
поставить XFree86-3.3.6 с соответствующим сервером
apt-get install XFree86-S3
После установки проследите, чтобы ссылка /etc/X11/X
указывала на этот сервер, т.е. на XFree86-S3. И файл
конфигурации здесь будет использоваться XF86Config,
а не XF86Config-4. Так что с картой проблем быть не
должно, сам долго на Diamond Stealth 64 Video работал,
несколько лет, в старых иксах поддержка карт на S3 968
была на очень высоком уровне, работало отлично. С
моником у Вас хуже -- modelines, вероятно, руками
придётся делать, да и работа в иксах в таком разрешении --
не фонтан.
