А почему бы руту пакеты не пособирать?
За один пакет система не рухнет... :)

Пакет собирается не rpm -ba ...spec и т. д., а в табол с драйвером,
заложена утилита ./build_rpm, вот я ее запускаю от юзера, там через слово
permission denied, после очередной такой фразы, вылетает с ошибкой, мол не
рут ты...
Запускаю ту же утилиту от рута или от sudo, теперь permission denied нет,
зато в конце он начинает уже собирать через свой спек rpm, а прав нет...
Теперь понятна проблема? :)
